Christmas is already a distant memory, but we just got some stats in from our Christmas Santa Quiz we made for Spil Games. The first 3 weeks before Christmas more than 2.4 million people played the quiz. Incredible results!

Last year we did some really cool projects with QuizControl, we made quizzes that were played by millions of players but also by ministers and even the prime-minister of the Netherlands! We also improved our service and had the pleasure to work with a couple of really interesting new clients.
2010 promises to become an even better year for QuizControl, since from this year on we decided to make QuizControl into an official company. Michiel Rademakers, Ammar Tijani and Martijn Reintjes founded QuizControl Limited in the first week of januari 2010. Besides giving the company more focus, this also allows us to work with more clients and partner with other companies. As you can see 2010 is looking good!
Last week we launched our own social media API to easily link our quizzes to the different social networks around there. The first execution of it will be launched this friday in the Santa Quiz for Spil Games. It will feature instant postings to your Twitter stream and your Facebook wall. Next up will be integration of LinkedIn and the local Dutch social network Hyves.
This is just the first step in our mission of social quiz connectivity, so stay tuned!
The Chocoholic test we made for Spil Games has been live for a month and counted almost 4 million plays. This made the game one of the top ranking newcomers on their game platforms for the month of november.
“The Chocoholic Test is a very fun game but also a bit scary because of the confronting results.” according to one of the players.

Quizzes and social interaction have been linked together for a very long time. One of the most famous examples of course is the board game Triviant Persuit, but also watching Weekend Millionaire with the whole family and talking about it the next day at work is a form of social quizzes. Nowadays with all the interwebs and social networks we are connecting easier, faster and more with bigger groups of people. This of course leads to new opportunities and a lot of parties already jumped onto the social quiz wagon. There already are more Facebook quizzes then one can play in a lifetime and cool quiz concepts like Twitbrain have popped up on Twitter too.
Of course QuizControl can’t stay behind and we’ll be launching some cool new quiz concepts for social networks in the upcoming months. We can’t share too much about these concepts at this time but you can expect the same high quality in these quiz concepts you’ve come to expect from QuizControl! More on this soon!

Today the Dutch national newspaper Trouw released 3 big test in a special educational feature. The tests, which are developed in cooperation with the University of Utrecht, focus on what part schools have in the upbringing of children according to both parents and teachers.
Just like the C-Factor test they released half a year ago, the Education Tests results will be used by the Open University for research and will be used in several articles in the newspaper and online.
The tests are build on new QuizControl technology which makes it possible to use advanced and complicated score calculations and will be available as a default feature in the new future.

At QuizControl we keep pushing out new features to make even more and better quizzes. But because of this the old backend interface became a bit crowded and difficult to use. So be build a new interface from scratch!
From now on all quizzes are build with blocks. A registration block, question blocks, content blocks and high score blocks can now be dragged in a quizflow and easily added. This setup makes it possible to expand our services with lots of new features and makes it easier for an admin to build a quiz.
All templates will be updated to the new backend in the upcoming week and features will be released in faces for our different clients.
Happy 2009! We hope you’re are as excited about this year as we are! 2009 is going to be a very quiz-worthy year because this year QuizControl is going to become a real company and is going to conquer the world with quizzes!
The year already started exciting with some changes in the development team and a really cool quiz that is scheduled for next week which is going to get a lot of exposure in the Dutch media. (later more about that)
We’re also planning a lot of cool new features for this year. We’re working on an API and we’re implementing some new quiz-types. 2009 is going to be great!
